As many as 56 militants have been neutralized in the zone of the anti-terrorist operation Pence Kilit (Claw Lock) conducted by Turkiye in northern Iraq since April 18, Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar said, Report informs referring to Anadolu Agency.
The defense minister, accompanied by the chief of the General Staff Yasar Guler and the commander of the ground forces Musa Avsever, visited the tactical command post of the 3rd Infantry Division of the Turkish Armed Forces, 10 km from the Iraqi region of Zap.
The minister reminded that Turkiye has been conducting a new stage in the fight against terrorism since July 24, 2015.
“From that period to this day, 34,259 terrorists have already been neutralized in Turkiye, in northern Iraq and Syria. Since the beginning of this year, the number of neutralized militants has reached 991,” Akar said, assuring that the fight against terrorists will continue until the threat of terrorism is completely eliminated in the region.
