Türkiye has become the 53rd country where the Eris strain has reached. According to experts, in the near future there may be a significant increase in morbidity statistics. The reasons cited are the opening of schools, the end of summer holidays and cold weather. Doctors recommend using a medical mask on public transport.
Altinbas University Professor Sevket Ozkaya emphasized that the main sign of infection is loss of taste, smell and hoarseness of the voice.
Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said that nine cases of infection with the Eris virus have been registered in the country.
