Türkiye begins evacuation of citizens from Lebanon

Turkish ships have set sail from Beirut port to Mersin, evacuating Turkish citizens from Lebanon, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said, Report informs via TRT Haber.

The evacuation was a coordinated effort between the ministries of Foreign Affairs and National Defense of Türkiye, involving citizens from various countries, with Turkish nationals being the majority.

In a similar operation during the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah conflict, Türkiye evacuated approximately 1,100 citizens within 12 hours. This time, over 2,000 individuals, including Turkish citizens and others, were evacuated by Turkish ships.
