Turkish president arrives in Uzbekistan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived in Samarkand to attend a meeting of the heads of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Report informs referring to the Uzbek media.

The distinguished guest was met at the airport by Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.

Today, the president of Uzbekistan is expected to meet with the leader of Turkiye.

A meeting of the Council of OTS Foreign Ministers is being held in Samarkand. The event is attended by the foreign ministers of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkiye, Hungary and Turkmenistan, as well as the OTS Secretary General.

Uzbek Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov said that following the November 9 meeting of economic development ministers, the Trade Facilitation Strategy between the member states of the organization was approved, and the Agreement on the Formation of a Simplified Customs Corridor was signed.

He also stressed that documents in the field of transport cooperation - the Agreement on International Multimodal Transportation of Goods and the Program of Cooperation in the field of transport will be signed as part of the summit, which will be held on November 11.
