Turkish FM rules out joining any unilateral sanctions

Ankara does not support the unilateral sanctions imposed on various states without the support of the UN, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said, Report informs via Interfax.

Before starting a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Delhi, Cavusoglu was asked how long, in his opinion, Türkiye could resist the pressure to join anti-Russian restrictions.

"We do not need to resist; we make our own decisions as a sovereign state. We do not join any unilateral sanctions, and we support only those introduced with the support of the UN. So, it's not just about Russia; we also don't support sanctions on Iran or other countries. We make our own decisions. Nobody can put pressure on us," Cavusoglu said.
