Turkey starts evacuating its citizens from Hubei

Turkey's Foreign Ministry has started evacuating its citizens from the Chinese province of Hubei over the coronavirus outbreak, the Turkish Ministry said in a statement.

Report says, citing RIA Novosti that, according to Turkey's ambassador to China, Emin Onen, 32 Turkish citizens are currently in China's Wuhan.

"Our ministry has launched work to evacuate Turkish citizens from the Chinese province of Hubei and, primarily, from Wuhan due to the outbreak of 2019-nCoV coronavirus. The Turkish Ministry of Health has already started preparations. We are in close contact with the Chinese authorities," the ministry said.

Turkey has reported no cases of coronavirus infection as of yet.

Though the country has revealed 12 suspicious cases, the results of the tests are yet to be confirmed.
