Turkey's Health Minister revaccinated with TURKOVAC

Turkish Minister of Health Fahrettin Koja has been administered the Turkey-made vaccine against COVID-19, TURKOVAC, as the third (booster) dose, Report informs, citing Anadolu.

The minister passed revaccination at the Ankara city hospital upon completing the virtual session of the Scientific Council on Combat against Coronavirus.

According to Koja, the domestically-made vaccine will be available in city hospitals in Turkey starting Thursday.

He also warned about the growing number of coronavirus cases over the past few days. He linked it to the fact that people usually spend more time in enclosed spaces in winter. Another reason is the rapid spread of the omicron strain, he added.

All the same, the minister noted that there had been no increase in hospitalizations.

He urged the residents to spend less time indoors and observe precaution measures, including mask-wearing.
