Tokayev reveals plans to increase trade with Vietnam to $1 billion

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has held talks with Vietnamese leader Vo Van Thuong, Report informs via the Akorda.

"The sides discussed the prospects of cooperation in trade-economic, investment, energy, transport-logistics, agro-industrial and cultural-humanitarian sectors," the information says.

Tokayev noted that the economic success of Vietnam lays a serious basis for further cooperation between the two nations. He reminded that the bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and Vietnam reached $600 million during the six months of 2023.

By the end of the year, this figure is planned to be raised to $1 billion, Tokayev said.
