Toivo Klaar, EU special representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, who is in Yerevan, discussed with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan the activities of the EU mission on conditional borders, Report informs referring to Sputnik-Armenia.
During the meeting, the parties noted the importance of hosting the EU civil mission in Armenia. An exchange of views took place on issues of regional security, peace and stability.
Issues related to the unblocking of regional transport infrastructures, as well as the work of commissions on border security and delimitation were also discussed.
Earlier, Klaar discussed the work of the EU monitoring mission with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan.
On October 17, at a meeting in Luxembourg, the EU foreign ministers officially approved the dispatch of 40 observers to Armenia on conditional borders with Azerbaijan. The observers arrived in the region and started their work on October 20. The mission is designed for two months.
