Toivo Klaar, Armen Grigoryan discuss activity of EU Monitoring Mission

Secretary of Armenian Security Council Armen Grigoryan discussed the work of the EU monitoring mission with Toivo Klaar, the European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Report informs, citing Armenian media.

The meeting was attended by the head of the EU delegation, Andrea Wiktorin.

"At the meeting, the parties discussed the steps taken within the framework of the powers of the EU monitoring mission. The parties also touched upon the negotiation process between Yerevan and Baku," the ministry said in a statement.

At a meeting in Luxembourg on October 17, the EU Foreign Ministers officially approved sending 40 observers to the conditional border with Azerbaijan in Armenia.

The observers arrived in the region and started their work on October 20. The mission will last for two months.
