Hundreds of police officers, equipped with shields and helmets, have gathered near the Armenian Parliament building in Yerevan.
Report informs via TASS that the show of force comes just two hours before an opposition rally is set to take place, with protesters demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The police have also brought rolls of barbed wire to the parliament, further fortifying the area in anticipation of the demonstration. Pashinyan, who has been facing mounting pressure from the opposition, is currently inside the parliament building. He is expected to participate in a government hour.
