Temporary restrictions imposed on several Russian airports

Russian aviation authorities have introduced temporary limitations on the operations of three key airports in the Moscow region - Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky. The restrictions, which came into effect on Tuesday, September 10, have resulted in the suspension of incoming and outgoing flights at these airports.

According to Artem Korenyako, the spokesperson of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia), Vnukovo and Domodedovo stopped accepting and dispatching aircraft from 01:17 Moscow time, while Zhukovsky followed suit from 01:46 Moscow time. The decision was made to ensure the safety of flights, which remains the top priority for the aviation industry.

Aircraft crews, air traffic controllers, and airport services are taking all necessary measures to maintain secure flight operations during this period. The temporary restrictions are not unprecedented, as similar measures have been implemented in the past to address various safety concerns.

In addition to the Moscow airports, Kazan Airport has also been subject to temporary limitations starting from 07:00 Moscow time on September 10. The airport has temporarily ceased accepting and dispatching flights as part of the safety measures.
