A Superjet 100 aircraft operated by Aeroflot's subsidiary, Rossiya Airlines, was forced to return to its departure airport in St. Petersburg after taking off for Moscow due to an unclosed hatch, Report informs via TASS.
The flight, FV6127 from St. Petersburg to Moscow, had to make an emergency landing back at Pulkovo Airport due to a technical issue.
The incident was caused by ground staff's failure to close a hatch, which went unnoticed by the crew during the pre-flight inspection, resulting in the aircraft's depressurization during the flight.
The airline's press service stated that the plane landed safely at 08:22 AM, and no emergency situation was declared at the airport.
The North-Western Transport Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation into the incident to ensure compliance with flight safety legislation and passenger rights.
A reserve aircraft was arranged to transport the 84 stranded passengers from Pulkovo Airport to their destination in Moscow, as reported by the prosecutor's office press service.
