Summit of women leaders of parliaments of countries of Inter-Parliamentary Union kicks off in Tashkent

The 14th summit of women heads of parliaments of the countries of the Inter-Parliamentary Union has started in Tashkent. Azerbaijan will be represented by Milli Majlis Speaker Sahiba Gafarova, who is in Uzbekistan on a working visit.

Report informs citing Sputnik-Uzbekistan that the participants of the meeting will discuss the topic: "Parliamentary Leadership: Predicting Risks to More Effectively Ensure Sustainability and Prosperity." In particular, the parties will consider addressing the risks hindering the global recovery from the pandemic.

In addition, the summit will also discuss issues of reducing the vulnerability of girls and women, including in the field of reproductive health, as well as initiatives to stimulate technological innovation in the digital economy and labor. The summit will continue on September 9th.
