State of emergency declared at AZAL airplane crash site in Aktau

A state of emergency has been declared by order of the Tupkaragan district administration of Kazakhstan at the site where the AZAL airplane crashed, Report informs, citing the Kazakh press.

"Search and rescue operations continue at the crash site of the Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft with the participation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations' canine services. Some 482 people, 97 pieces of equipment, 2 aircraft, and 10 canine brigades are involved in eliminating the consequences of the accident," stated the Kazakhstan Ministry of Emergency Situations.

As noted, the ministry's hotline received 571 calls.

Coordination and information exchange between the Ministries of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, Russia, and Azerbaijan are being carried out via video conference.
