Türkiye remains a candidate for membership in the EU, despite its application for membership in BRICS, Spokesperson for the EU foreign policy service Peter Stano said, Report informs referring to foreign media.
Türkiye, like any other country, can decide what is best for it, form alliances and establish cooperation, he added.
As for relations with the EU, Türkiye remains a candidate country, he said.
The EU has a common customs union with Türkiye, good and very beneficial trade relations for Türkiye, he noted.
