Shalva Papuashvili: Georgian president should show goodwill by resigning

Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, has called for President Salome Zourabichvili to resign, citing her recent appeal to the Constitutional Court regarding the controversial "Foreign Agents" law, Report informs.

"By appealing to the Constitutional Court over the 'Foreign Agents' law, the President of Georgia has acknowledged its legitimacy. If she has any political dignity, she should resign,” Papuashvili stated.

The speaker also criticized the opposition, saying, "Just a few months ago, the opposition was calling the Constitutional Court judges various epithets. They almost declared the judges as slaves to undermine the legitimacy of the impeachment decision, and today they are appealing to these same judges for justice.”
