Security Service of Ukraine searches houses of well-known oligarch and ex-minister

The house of the former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, is being searched, Report informs via RBC-Ukraine.

The search comes after the helicopter accident in Brovary, which killed the leadership of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

So, it is related to the purchase of Airbus helicopters from France during the days when Avakov headed the ministry.

The ex-minister said in a press release that the law enforcement agencies reviewed the six-year contracts with the French company Airbus Helicopters, which supplies the Ministry of Internal Affairs with H-225, H-145 and H-125 helicopters.

The Security Service of Ukraine is searching the house of oligarch Igor Kolomoysky, Report informs via RBC-Ukraine.

Ukraine’s law enforcement agencies said the search is related to financial fraud in Ukrtatneft and Ukrnafta companies.

Preliminary data show that he wasted oil products in the total amount of 40 billion hryvnias (roughly $1.1 billion). Moreover, the accusations also include evasion of customs payments.
