Secretary of Azerbaijan’s Security Council: Armenia understands - limit of concessions exhausted

The participation of Armenian officials in recent weeks in various discussions and negotiations on the delimitation and demarcation of Azerbaijan-Armenia borders shows that they understand that the limit of concessions has been exhausted, Secretary of Azerbaijan’s Security Council Colonel-General Ramil Usubov said in an interview with the official press, Report informs.

Ramil Usubov noted that Armenia, which creates artificial barriers, has no choice besides regional cooperation and abandoning unfounded claims. “On the other hand, when it becomes clear that the opposition organizing protests against the peace talks won’t achieve its goal, the number of people joining them decreases. Also, most of the participants in these rallies are only protesting against the deplorable social situation in the country. It seems that the Armenian society has both the desire and support for peace talks,” he said.

“It should be kept in mind that in last year's elections, the Armenian people trusted the ruling party, which declared that it would start negotiations with Azerbaijan, and not the opposition, representing the “party of war - the military junta.” The people gave Pashinyan a mandate to conclude a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, that is, the Armenian people are tired of hostility and want stability,” Usubov added.
