Russian lawmakers on Thursday approved the appointment of a new prime minister.
Report informs that Mikhail Mishustin, the chief of Russia's tax service, received support from 383 MPs, while 41 lawmakers abstained. None of the MPs voted against Mishustin's candidacy.
Mr. Mishustin succeeds Dmitry Medvedev, who was Russia's prime minister for eight years. Medvedev resigned hours after Vladimir Putin proposed changes to the constitution.
