Russian Foreign Ministry urges Armenian PM to respect countries' peace efforts

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has urged Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to respect those who have "fought for peace at the cost of their lives" in the South Caucasus region.

Her statement came in response to News.ru's question regarding the implementation of the tripartite statement of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia dated November 10, 2020, and Pashinyan's recent remarks, in which he misrepresented the text of the document.

Zakharova emphasized that the implementation of such agreements is not achieved by a "wave of a magic wand" but through the efforts of people who contribute their time and sometimes even their lives to turn the written words into reality. She criticized Pashinyan's irresponsible attitude towards quoting the documents, stating that it is essential to "respect the efforts of those who developed the provisions of the relevant documents to achieve peace and stability in the region."
