Russian Foreign Ministry says Moscow plays its role in reaching agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia

"While assisting Baku and Yerevan in drafting a peace agreement, Russia is guided by proposals on the basic principles of building interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, Report says, citing Russian media.

"These proposals were drafted in Baku, and the result was constructive. They are a good basis for reconciling positions. We are playing our role in bringing the parties to an agreement and bringing them closer," she said.

According to her, it is vital to adhere to the essence and spirit of the tripartite agreements as part of the normalization process.
