Vyacheslav Detishin, the head of the Simonovsky district court presiding over Alexei Navalny's trial, submitted his resignation, according to court spokeswoman Kristina Shvadchenko, Report informs, citing the RIA Novosti,
"Yes, the chairman has resigned. However, this is not related to Navalny, and the incident did not occur on February 2," she told the agency.

The Russian court sentenced opposition leader Alexei Navalny to 30 days in a Moscow prison over parole violations.
The court ruling came less than a day after Navalny was detained upon arrival of his flight from Germany to a Moscow airport, ending a lengthy recuperation abroad after a poisoning attack in Siberia last August.
