Russia intends to open new consulate in Armenia

Sergey Paltov, deputy director of the 4th department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that Russia would open its consulate in Armenia.

Report informs citing Russian media, that the consulate will be opened in Zangazur (Syunik region).

The decision was taken as part of negotiations between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

According to Paltov, the opening of the consulate will be held in a simplified and accelerated mode.

"It was decided to send people there to start working there and contribute not only to the preservation of the Armenian-Russian friendship," the diplomat said.
