Russia declares 3 employees of Swedish Embassy in Moscow persona non grata

Russia has declared three employees of the Swedish Embassy in Moscow persona non grata, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Report informs citing Kommersant newspaper.

“On April 26, Swedish Ambassador Malena Mard was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry. She received a strong protest in connection with the hostile actions of the Swedish authorities due to the expulsion of Russians, as well as the provision of military support to Ukraine,” the Foreign Ministry said.

Sweden announced the expulsion of three Russian diplomats on April 5. This decision was made in response to the military operations of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.

Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde warned that even more employees of the Russian embassy could be declared persona non grata. Since the beginning of the military operation, more than 300 Russian diplomats have been expelled from the US and European countries.
