Russia and China sign contract on gas supplies

Gazprom and CNPC signed a long-term contract for the purchase and sale of natural gas via the Far East route, Report informs, citing Gazprom.

The volume of Russian pipeline gas deliveries to China will increase in total to 48 billion cubic meters per year.

Russian oil companies have prepared "new excellent solutions" for the supply of hydrocarbons to China, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Report informs, citing TASS.

"For our today's meeting, our oilmen have prepared new excellent solutions for the supply of hydrocarbons to the People's Republic of China, and the gas industry has taken another step forward, I mean a new contract for the supply of gas to China from the Far East of Russia at 10 billion cubic meters per year," Putin said.

According to Putin, relations between Russia and China have acquired an unprecedented character, and the countries support each other's development.

"As for bilateral relations, they are developing progressively in the spirit of friendship, strategic partnership. They have acquired a truly distinctive character and are an example of worthy relations that help each other develop and at the same time support each other in development," Putin said.
