Reuters: Evacuation from Mariupol scheduled for today

Ukraine hopes on Friday, March 29, to evacuate civilians who are remaining at the Mariupol plant Azovstal along with the fighters defending the city.

Report informs citing UNIAN that this was reported by Reuters citing sources in the Office of the president of Ukraine.

"Today, an operation is planned to withdraw civilians from the plant," the statement reads.

Other details are not specified.

Yesterday UN Secretary General António Guterres arrived in Kyiv for a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. After her, the Ukrainian president said that the evacuation from Mariupol was possible with the help of the UN.

Earlier it was reported that in Mariupol there are more than 100,000 civilians who are under blockade of the Russian Armed Forces.
