Putin promises thorough investigation into AZAL plane crash in Kazakhstan

During the informal CIS summit held in St. Petersburg, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the recent crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane near the Kazakh city of Aktau.

"On behalf of all the heads of state of the CIS, I want to express my condolences to the families of the victims and all those affected," President Putin stated.

He noted that, in coordination with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a plane from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has been dispatched to Aktau.

"We will coordinate the work of our aviation services on all issues related to this tragedy," he added.
