Russian President Vladimir Putin has held a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the Konstantinovsky Palace near St. Petersburg.
According to Report, which cites Russian media, during the meeting, President Putin emphasized that Russia and China are at the forefront of advocating for the principles of a fair global order, which is supported by the countries of the Global South, representing the majority of the world's population.
In response, Foreign Minister Wang Yi conveyed a significant announcement: Chinese President Xi Jinping has accepted the invitation to attend the upcoming BRICS summit, set to take place in Kazan, Russia, in October.
Prior to his meeting with Wang Yi, President Putin participated in a gathering of high-level representatives from BRICS countries, focusing on security matters. The event was held from September 10 to 12 in St. Petersburg.
