Putin instructs Federal Security Service to strengthen counterintelligence

Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the Federal Security Service to strengthen the work of counterintelligence and to fight Ukrainian sabotage groups, Report informs referring to the Russian media.

He noted that the strengthening of the terror threat in Russia is connected with the actions of Ukraine and Western countries.

“The Russian-Ukrainian section of the state border should be under the special control of the Federal Security Service border service. Now a group is deployed there, which includes units of border authorities, aviation, the armed forces and the National Guard. Your task is to put a barrier on the path of sabotage groups, to stop attempts to smuggle of weapons and ammunition on the territory of Russia,” Putin said.

He instructed the service to strengthen control over the implementation of the state defense order and the provision of troops participating in hostilities in Ukraine.

Putin demanded to stop the use of the Internet and social networks to involve young people in extremist activities. He also called youth “the most vulnerable category” that can fall under the influence of extremists.
