Putin, Erdogan mull joint production of Sputnik V in Turkey

The presidents of Russia and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, have discussed the possibility of producing Sputnik V, the Russian vaccine against coronavirus, at Turkish enterprises and supplying this medication to Turkey from May, Report informs referring to TASS.

"The topic of combating the spread of coronavirus infection was discussed in detail, taking into account the epidemiological situation in Turkey," the Kremlin press service said.

The readiness of Russia to build up practical cooperation in this direction was emphasized.

“In particular, the sides discussed the earliest organization, starting this month, of deliveries of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine,” the Kremlin noted, adding that “the possibilities of establishing joint vaccine production at Turkish enterprises are also being considered.”
