Turkish and Russian Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin respectively spoke on the phone, Report informs, citing the Turkish Presidential Administration.
The two leaders discussed the tension between Russia and Ukraine.
Erdogan said that on regional issues, he has always attached great importance to the dialogue with Putin, has seen positive results, and is determined to continue this process.
Declaring that they do not recognize the steps taken against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and that this is their principled position, the Turkish leader noted the importance of consensus based on the Minsk agreements.
Emphasizing that a military confrontation will not benefit anyone, Erdogan said that Turkey is ready to do everything to reduce tensions and maintain peace.
