Putin creates special commission to investigate explosion on Crimean bridge

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the creation of a government commission to investigate the explosion on the Crimean bridge, President’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, Report informs, citing TASS.

According to him, Putin listened to the reports of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Transport, law enforcement agencies, and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The National Anti-Terrorism Committee of Russia announced the initial cause of the explosion on the bridge. The committee said that the cause of the burning of 7 fuel tanks on the bridge was the explosion of a truck.

The Kerch Bridge, which connects Crimea to Russia, caught fire early Saturday morning. Footage and images, widely shared on social media, show that a road section collapsed and train carriages were burning on the bridge.
