Presidents of Turkey, Iran meet in Ashgabat

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi met in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, Report informs via Anadolu Agency.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 15th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

The summit is being held in Ashgabat today. During the event, the leaders of the member states will exchange views on key issues of regional economic cooperation, as well as sum up Turkmenistan's chairmanship in the ECO and its statutory bodies.

A final declaration is expected to be adopted at the end of the summit.

The ECO is a regional interstate economic organization established in 1985. The organization unites ten countries - Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
