The ruling party Georgian Dream—Democratic Georgia—carries out anti-Western propaganda and establishes close relations with Russia, President Salome Zourabichvili said in her speech on the annual report in the parliament, Report informs.
"State-wide anti-Western and pseudo-nationalist propaganda is carried out, pro-Russian groups are encouraged and funded, and cyber-attacks on government institutions are more frequent. In fact, this is a sign of what we should expect from the elections. The category of hybrid war includes massive Russian immigration, which directly affects the economy and generally increases the country's dependence on Russian money and markets, as well as the share of Russian capital in the country," she stated.
According to her, the ruling party's hybrid strategy is based on a number of different provocations, including the resumption of air traffic with Russia and the entry of a Russian cruise ship into Batumi.
Zourabichvili noted that all this is aimed at inciting conflict and creating a threat to destabilize society.
