Armenian parliament speaker admits losses on border

Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, admitted at the parliament session on September 13 that his country's armed forces suffered losses in military clashes on the border with Azerbaijan, Report informs, referring to Sputnik Armenia.

According to Simonyan, the Armenian side had casualties due to the clashes on the Azerbaijan-Armenia border on September 13.

The country's parliament was convened in connection with the armed conflict on the border with Azerbaijan. However, the factions represented in the legislative body could not agree on adopting a single document. A break was announced in the meeting of the parliament to decide on the document.

The losses of the Armenian army amounted to 150-200 people, and hundreds were wounded. Two S-300 air defense systems, worth over half a billion, were blown to pieces.

The Azerbaijani army ensured the control of several strategic positions and heights in the border region that are not delimited. Some strategic communications passing through the territory of Armenia were also taken under visual and fire control.
