Political scientist: Attack on Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran – breach of Vienna Convention

Attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran can certainly be regarded as a breach of the Vienna convention, Christian Kaunert, political scientist, professor of International Security at Dublin City University, Ireland, told Report.

“It is likely to be some sort of signal to Azerbaijan, a close ally of Israel, and to Israel and the wider Western world,” he noted.

“Difficult to punish Iran without clear material evidence to prove involvement, but it can certainly be regarded as a breach of the Vienna Convention,” he added.
