Police refuse to detain protesters in Aktobe

Police officers in Kazakhstan's Aktobe, an administrative center in western Kazakhstan, have refused to arrest protesters, Report informs, citing the Telegram channel of Orda.kz.

"Police officers in Aktobe said they are with the nation and won't raise their hand on people," the article reads.

According to the information, around 1,000 protesters are near the local administration, demanding the oblast governor to appear before them.

The Aktobe administration said on Instagram amid protests in the city that they met the protesters' demands, reducing the price for liquefied gas to 50 tenges and releasing those detained during the protests.
