Police detain 9 in downtown Yerevan

The Armenian police have detained a total of nine protesters in Yerevan so far, according to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Report informs referring to Sputnik Armenia.

Two were detained on Republic Square, the remaining seven were detained at the Myasnikyan Avenue - where demonstrators had previously blocked one of the sections.

Six more demonstrators’ cars were taken to impound lots.

Before the start of the Cabinet meeting, members of the protest movement used cars to block the Republic Square, where the government building is located.
