Pilot survives helicopter crash on Kamchatka volcano

A pilot has emerged unharmed after his Robinson helicopter crashed near the base of the Maly Semyachik volcano on Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula.

According to Report, which cites TASS, the incident, which occurred on August 8, has left investigators puzzled and aviation enthusiasts amazed.

The operational services said the helicopter was found lying on its side approximately 130 km from the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Miraculously, the sole occupant of the aircraft, the pilot, managed to extricate himself from the wreckage without requiring any medical assistance.
