Pezeshkian takes oath as Iran's president amid high-profile guests

The inauguration ceremony for Iran's newly elected President, Masoud Pezeshkian, is taking place in the Parliament building in Tehran, according to Report, which cites Iranian media. The event is being attended by high-ranking guests from nearly 80 countries.

In accordance with Article 121 of the Iranian Constitution, Pezeshkian is required to take the oath of office in the presence of parliamentarians, members of the Guardian Council, and the head of the judiciary.

As a precautionary measure, shops located in Baharestan Square, in close proximity to the Parliament building, have been closed for the duration of the inauguration. Additionally, the operating schedules of several transportation services in the capital have been adjusted to accommodate the ceremony.
