Peskov: Putin and Fico discussed gas issues and the Ukrainian question

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico thoroughly discussed gas-related issues during negotiations on Sunday, including the possibility of Russian gas supplies to Slovakia after the cessation of transit through Ukraine, Report informs, citing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"You have heard statements from the Ukrainian side and know about the position of European countries that continue to buy Russian gas and consider it necessary for the normal operation of their economy," he said, noting that this complex situation requires increased attention.

According to him, the leaders of the two countries also "managed to discuss bilateral relations, which were significantly affected by the actions of the previous Slovak authorities, and managed to exchange views on Ukrainian affairs."
