The Kremlin has expressed bewilderment over French President Emmanuel Macron's statements about the need to increase pressure on Russia in the next eight to ten days, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists, Report informs via Interfax.
"It seems that in France, they don't bother to listen to the statements of President Putin, who has repeatedly repeated that Russia is ready to begin the negotiation process without any preconditions," he said.
He noted that the Ukrainian side has not yet responded to this.
"Talking about the need to increase some kind of pressure - this, unfortunately, confirms that in European capitals, they prefer to focus on continuing the line of war, while we are still focused on continuing efforts to bring the process into the channel of a peaceful settlement," Peskov added.
