Pashinyan: Tough measures to be taken against those responsible for fire in barracks

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has vowed to take tough measures against those responsible for the fire in the military unit, which killed 15 servicemen, Report informs referring to the Armenian media.

At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers Pashinyan confirmed that there would be no compromises on this issue.

He noted that the reason was the use of gasoline for heating. Due to a violation of safety rules, the stove caught fire, the officer was injured and reflexively threw a five-liter container of gasoline, which was used for ignition, towards the barracks.

The prime minister added that the investigation and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia should establish all the circumstances.

In connection with the incident, several high-ranking officials were dismissed from their positions.
