Pashinyan not happy with quality of democracy in Armenia

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that he is dissatisfied with the quality of democracy in the country, Report informs.

He made the remark during the Armenian Forum for Democracy.

“In particular, in my opinion, elections at the local government level are not sufficiently politicized,” Pashinyan noted.

Referring to the freedom of speech and the press in Armenia, the prime minister said that it is necessary to make sure that this is perceived by the Armenian public as something that is positive.

“For us, democracy is not a matter of circumstances, but a strategy, and the government will continue on this strategic path,” he said.
