It is time to replace the 1982 constitution, Numan Kurtulmus, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, wrote on X, Report informs.
Kurtulmus emphasized that the current constitution is a product of a coup.
“Our primary duty is to eliminate the coup constitution and create a democratic, civilized, and free-spirited one that genuinely represents the nation’s will. This is the only way to fully establish the rule of law,” he noted.
Discussions on constitutional change have been ongoing in Türkiye for a long time.
