Armenia and Russia are not planning joint military exercises in 2025, the Republic's Defense Minister Suren Papikyan said at a press conference, Report informs via Armenian media.
"No Armenian-Russian military exercises are planned for this year," he said.
Papikyan also stated that Armenia is holding discussions "with various international partners about conducting joint military exercises."
"I hope they will take place," said the Defense Minister.
Additionally, Papikyan stated that Yerevan considers the decision to freeze relations with the CSTO legitimate.
"It is proven every day that as long as our partners in the CSTO haven't changed their attitude and position, our attitude and position remain legitimate and stem from Armenia's interests," he said.
According to him, Armenia must solve its problems on its own, "while also balancing between solutions."
"We must have foreign policy assistance, international legitimacy, a defense-capable army, and a democratic country," Papikyan said.
In December 2024, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Yerevan considers itself outside the CSTO, return to the Organization is no longer possible, and the point of no return has been passed.
