OSCE Secretary-General: Turkiye contributes to normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Turkiye contributes to the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid said, Report informs.

Schmid said that Turkiye's contributions to the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and working with interested parties are very important for the OSCE.

"The diplomacy conducted by Turkiye regarding the grain agreement with the United Nations is admirable. It is vital to arrange transportation of food and fertilizers from Ukraine to the world," she said.

According to Schmid, this agreement is crucial for the Ukrainian economy, while people worldwide are at risk of starvation.

Reminding the OSCE's opportunity to work with representatives from Turkiye in Ukraine, the Secretary-General emphasized that international observers were evacuated from Ukraine thanks to Turkiye's efforts.

She regretted that there is no chance of dialogue in the war in Ukraine. Schmid noted that dialogue and mediation are the essential elements of diplomacy, and the OSCE is committed to these values: "We need Turkiye's support."

"Turkish diplomacy is one of the most professional diplomatic missions in the world. Turkiye plays the role of a bridge between Europe and Asia," Helga Schmid said.
