Officials quit ruling party in Georgia

Four members of Georgia's ruling Georgian Dream Party, holding public positions in four municipalities, have resigned.

Report's local bureau informs that the representatives of the local authorities of Lagodekhi, Chiatura, Tercola, and Akhaltsikhe municipalities have left the party.

Giorgi Gambashidze, deputy chairman of Lagodekhi municipality, Nikoloz Samkharadze, member of Chiatura city council, Omar Tsikhvashvili, deputy chairman of Tercola town council, and Saba Kbilashvili, deputy chairman of Akhaltsikhe town council, have announced their resignation from their positions and with the party.

They expressed their support for Sozar Subari, Mikheil Kavelashvili, and Dmitry Khundadze, who recently left the Georgian Dream Party and were accused of trying to involve Western Georgia in the war.
