Official: Arms embargo against Turkiye damaging NATO's security

“Some of our NATO allies are still imposing an arms embargo on Turkiye. Failure to meet the legitimate needs of Turkiye, a NATO member, is detrimental not to Turkiye but to the overall security of the Alliance,” Justice and Development Party spokesman Omar Celik said, Report informs.

“The first question everyone asks when a crisis occurs is about Turkiye’s position. This was also the case in the Russian-Ukrainian tension. Because they know that Turkiye’s position is decisive, that Turkiye has a leading position in NATO. Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that NATO was experiencing ‘brain death’ and now ‘we must do our best to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank,’” the spokesman said.
